Have you ever wondered what it was like to engage in one-on-one air combat like the fighter pilots of World War One? Experience it for yourself! Fly with your wingman and experience all the thrills of formation and aerobatic flight together as well as seeing some of the best sights Sydney has to offer. You will fly in close military-style formation, near enough that you will be able to see the smiles on each other's faces!

The flight is conducted in the Red Baron Extra Stunt Plane and the Red Baron Pitts Special, Open Cockpit Biplane.

Upon your arrival at Red Baron HQ, Bankstown, you will both be suited in a flight suit and prepared to board. Once your pre-flight briefing is complete your pilots will strap you securely into the cockpits and fasten your headset. There will be plenty of time for your family and friends to take photographs of you as you prepare for your flight.

You and your wingman will take off side by side in formation and head out for the ultimate experience. You’ll be able to hear all the calls to air traffic control as well as speak to your pilot through the intercom.

Once airborne you’ll and your wingman will head towards the outer suburbs of Sydney to reach a cruising altitude of 1500ft. You’ll soar over the sprawling Olympic site at Homebush Bay and then over the north-western suburbs of Hornsby and St Ives. Once granted clearance to Sydney Harbour you’ll tour the city, taking in a bird’s eye view of iconic landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. You can wave at the Prime Minister at Kirribilli, fly higher than the eagles at Taronga Park Zoo and salute the sailors on Garden Island. You and your wingman will have the best seats in the house for the best view in the world.

The Top Gun Experience lasts 2 hours and 70 minutes of flight time. This includes:

YOUR MISSION BRIEF:

Upon your arrival at Red Baron Hangar, you will both be checked in by one of our friendly flight hosts. While you are getting ready any accompanying friends and family will relax in our comfortable flight lounge, enjoying complimentary tea & coffee. When ready for departure you both will climb into a pilot's flight-suits and prepare to board. You will then meet your pilots and join them for the essential pre-flight mission briefing. Once complete your pilots will strap you securely into the cockpit and fasten your headset.  

 There will be plenty of time for your family and friends to take photographs of you as you prepare for your flight. When you are secure, your pilot will prepare the plane for take-off. You'll be able to hear all the calls to air traffic control and speak to your pilot through the intercom.

You and your wingman will take off side by side in formation and head out together for the ultimate experience. Once airborne you and your wingman will then head North flying along the beautiful Sydney coastline. You will have excellent views of Manly, Sydney Harbour, Bondi, Dee Why, Long Reef, Narrabeen, Avalon, Palm Beach and MORE! Once at Palm Beach, you will climb up to 3000 ft- 4000 ft. When ready your pilots will start the aerial dogfight. Your pilots will take turns chasing each other down and completing all sorts of aerobatic manoeuvres to avoid each other!

On completion, you will break away for a more extreme individual aerobatics sequence. Once your individual aerobatics are complete you will rejoin formation and head back to base for a formation landing.
